Although the internet is a great source of knowledge and books are plentiful, sometimes there can be either too much information or not enough and it can be frustrating to get to grips with horticultural techniques.
Set within your own garden, we will spend the session dealing with the specific techniques that you wish to learn. I will bring all the tools needed and together we will set to the task and hopefully you will come away with the skills and knowledge to get you gardening with confidence in the future.
Some of the skills I teach are:
Pruning - winter and summer
Training of climbing plants and supports of herbaceous plants and shrubs
Vegetable growing, propagation and cultivation
Fruit tree planting, pruning and training
Weed identification and easy ways to manage the invasive ones
Plant identification
How to help wildlife through your gardening techniques
Planting up baskets and pots
Propagation - Taking cuttings and growing your own plants.
Improving soil health and why it is necessary
Organic and wildlife friendly gardening techniques
Each session will be catered to your individual needs and can be done with up to 3 guests of your choice. Single sessions are offered, however more can be needed throughout the year as the garden changes and specific tasks need to be considered.
Sessions are charged as and when needed --
1 person per hour - £25 2 people per hour - £40 (£20 each) 3 people per hour - £54 (£18 each)
I find that 2 hours within your garden can give us enough time to go through the basics and aid in teaching you how to look after your garden.
Gift vouchers are available if you have someone in mind that would love to have a lesson.
