After being fascinated with plants from a young age, helping in my grandparents garden in East London popping busy lizzie seeds, I always had a love of nature.
Completing a BSc degree in Horticulture at Writtle College with focus on plantsmanship and ethnobotany, I discovered a love of garden history, specifically women in horticulture the likes of Gertrude Jekyll, Ellen Willmott and Kitty Lloyd James.
Starting my horticulture business in 2014, I've worked all across the South East, I have managed and maintained some of the most beautiful gardens come rain or shine.
I work within gardens as organically as is possible, with soil health as a paramount. It is the essence of life and in order to have a garden full of life and health we need to be protecting the soil as much as we do our plants.
Most of my customers have been keen gardeners and growers, but either didn't have the knowledge, time or energy to keep it going. Working with customers in their garden answering any questions they had, helping them to understand their soils and teaching how their garden grows lead me to develop the consultant/advice side of my business which has been a very rewarding part of my work.
Design comes naturally to gardeners as you're constantly planning, planting and understanding how people use their gardens and what works for one does not always work for another. I completed a garden design diploma through Chelsea based KLC design and I am passionate about creating gardens which are beautiful, use-able and a places you want to spend time in.
I like to design and create gardens that are beautiful, useable, green-focused and specific to the owner and their needs. Gardens and gardening offer significant benefits for mental health, promote mindfulness, reduces stress and improving overall well-being.
